To Serve And Protect

This photo was taken in 1965 at Whitman Airport restaurant in Los Angeles, California. Rick Alpert (foreground) is in line with the LAPD Parade Drill team, after a parade in Sylmar, California.

Rick knew a few of these officers as he had a thriving auto glass & upholstery business in Reseda, California and did work on their personal cars, hot rods, and scooters.

I know because I was there in the mid 70's and saw some very "interesting" things. Rick has given me the rights to this image after 42 years of friendship. Rick is still with us and resides around Sturgis, South Dakota.

Here is an ORIGINAL piece of motorcycle history, un-retouched as it really happened in the middle 60's. Think of trying to get an image like this today!

Be sure to take one or more home for yourself or as a gift for a lucky friend. Fresh from 1965 and the San Fernando Valley... The bitchin 'est place on earth in the 60's & 70's! Thanks.
